History of APFI
The Asia Pacific Film Institute was founded in 2001 by the National Artist for Film and Broadcast, Marilou Diaz-Abaya and Award winning veteran director & producer Benjamin “M7” Yalung.
Their goal was to create an institution that would provide practical and comprehensive filmmaking education by tapping their
extensive network of industry veterans and practitioners.
